Fall is On The Way
So Fall is coming, with winter soon to follow. So I am beginning to start my SWAP (sewing with a plan). This will be my first season trying a SWAP. And I’ve got to be honest, I LOVE the planning of it all. But I am a bit concerned that I’m not going to find a good middle ground between making too little and planning too much. Does that make sense? So far I have come up with this as my plan. I welcome any comments on it.
For my DD:
2 pair of pants
2 dresses
4 tee shirts
2 tops
For DS:
4 pair of pants
2 button shirts
5 tees
And of course I have two boys, though one of the them is only in 2T. Besides planning the SWAP, I’ve been making hats. I’d done my DDs. It was done on the Knifty Knitter. I still think I should have used a more bulky yarn, but it turned out nice. And she LIKES it!
So now I’m on to my sons. But I need some size 10 circs for it. Maybe next week after my block of the month.

So I have graduated into some Men’s wear. Now this is not a pair of slacks or a dress jacket, but it’s a start. I have this dream of wanting to do women’s wear. Someday I hope to have the skills to create anything I desire. Someday, hopefully soon.
I haven’t been around here much lately. I had a post part of the way complete for my Madaline’s 4th Angel Day, but for whatever reason I could not complete it. I have been all together too tired lately for much of anything except movies and a lot of couch time.
So how could I also forget. I have opened my own Hyena Cart shop. The grand opening was June 27th, no surprise on the date of that.

So here I am back to the blog. I haven’t been around much. I have become so busy and keeping up is getting very difficult. I am busy with HyenaCart. I am opening my own shop there on the 27th. I am very excited about it. I even have some things in progress for the opening! I am also a bit nervous about it.
I did a cute little sundress tonight, but it still needs the rolled hem. But I think I might have a problem with my screw on my serger. I believe it has been striped. So I will have to figure out something for that to finish the hem. Maybe DH can help me.
I have finally sewn up some of my favorite fabrics. Baby Nay Jade! So beautiful! Here’s a photo of a lounge set I did for a customer.
Ah love!
I so adore some of Baby Nay. I have some Zen Garden as well. That just might be my all time favorite.
LDV’s Opening and A Little Etsy
Hi Everyone. Well, La Dolce Vita had it’s grand opening this week. I have several things still up for grabs there. I had listed this custom Olivia there in this super cute golden Euro birds fabric.
I adore the hood on this playdress.
I also listed a custom of this dress in any fabric up on Etsy. I have joined EtsyKids and so excited about the sale coming up tomorrow. It’s a new promotion for EtsyKids called Friday Night EtsyKids (FNEK). I am offering 10% off and free shipping within the US. Please come over and check out all the wonderful deals at my Etsy shoppe. The sale is from 6pm - 12 pm EST.
Lastly I wanted to share this cute little tank (is it okay to say cute for a boy?) It was the first time I used my top and bottom coverstitch on my Juki machine. I adore this stitch. It’s so wonderful. Truly gives the garment a RTW look.
I created more for LDV’s opening. You can see them all here.

Well, more time has again passed. I have been busy working on customs along with getting ready for a new congo launch on April 3rd. I am so excited to have been asked to join La Dolce Vita on Hyena Cart. We are doing a Soupe du Jour theme for our opening. I have several things planned, with most of them cut. I have started sewing a few of them as well. I hope you all will join us for our launch. There might even be some things given away (hint, hint).
Well, on with the photos. Here’s set I did as a custom for a boy. I did some flat felled seams on this. I should have taken some photos of the insides, but alas I forgot and it’s on it’s way to the owner now.
I don’t know why the shirt looks so yellow in the photos. It must be something to do with the flash. But I am very proud of this set.
