Dress #2:

Burda 06/2006 #140 Dress #2 Burda WOF 06/2006 #140 Dress #2 Close Up

Fabric: A vintage looking print from Hancock Fabrics. Sewn together as one with a muslin I found in my stash (I believe from Hancock Fabrics, but can’t be sure). Pink knit ribbing is from Hancock Fabrics also.

Size: I made the smallest size this skirt came in. Then took off some width from the ribbing to make a smaller waist.

Embelishments: I added the bias binding to make the skirt more RTW looking.

Notes: It was still too big for DD. I even measured the band from a RTW skirt that was a bit tight. Apparently the ribbing has the tentency to stretch when sewn. Oh well, summer is almost over anyway.

Summary: Easy to sew, quick make up. Hangs well and is very pretty.

Dress #1:

Burda WOF 6/2006 #140 Close Up
Fabric: A vintage looking print from Hancock Fabrics. Sewn together as one with a light white batiste from Just Fabrics. Pink knit ribbing is from Hancock Fabrics also.

Size: I made the smallest size this skirt came in.

Embelishments: I added the rick-rack to make the skirt more RTW looking.

Notes: Sizing was too large in waist. Way too big. But I should have paid more attention to the sizing chart, so it’s my fault.

Summary:Easy to sew, quick make up. Hangs well and is very pretty.

Dress #1:
                         Back
Fabric: Purchased from local JoAnn’s. It’s a lovely summery seersucker.

Size: I made a size 3 in this. I made the mistake of going off DD’s RTW items for size. WOW the pattern size was much much bigger. Watch sizing on this.

Notes: My first attempt at making this pattern. I made view F. There was alot of gathering involved. It was not hard to gather, but took alot of time to do. I did nothing special with this pattern, simply followed what the pattern did.

Summary: Beautiful dress. Can’t wait for DD to grow into it. I love the many tiers. Very easy to sew.
