Crayon
Here’s yet another picture of DS’ crayon sock. I am almost to the toe decrease. I hope all socks don’t go as slowly as this one did. I think maybe it’s been so slow due to the 70+ stitches on it.
Sloooow Sock

Here’s my sock. I have more to say about my weekend, but that darn housework is getting in the way. Have to prepare for a party this weekend. But I will be back to tell you all about my block of the month class and DD’s sweater project. As well as some other random things!

Today I took my very first culinary class at a local college. I am trying to decide between a degree in Textiles or one in Culinary Arts. I decided to take some classes in both fields. It was very interesting. We even got an assignment! Who would have thought I’d ever get excited about having homework!
Well, I saw on a blog today a little list I found amusing. So I decided I should try this also. But I am too lazy busy to do 100, so I thought I’d go for 10. I know you all are holding your breath (ha ha), but here’s 10 little things about me….
1. I never thought I’d end up as “crunchy” as I’ve become as a mom. I’d have said “cloth diapers, YUCK!”
2. I almost never drink milk.
3. My angel baby, Madaline, will turn 3 heavenly years on the 27th.
4. I would have never been as active on the internet if it hadn’t been for her.
5. I love staying home with my kids, but I fear I’m losing my mind some days.
6. I used to have a pierced tongue and navel!
7. I haven’t had any alcoholic beverage in over 4 years. Being pregnant does that to you.
8. I am astonished everyday by how some moms treat their children.
9. I painted my toenails for the first time in 5 years when my ds got baptized in April.
10. I didn’t learn sew until I got married in 2000.
I also started my Knitting World Cup project! It is very interesting. Much better then the beginner scarf I’ve been working on

for the class I took at String Of Purls. Which I have started over for the second third time. But I am attempting the Tychus for DH’s birthday. I have never attempted short rows nor color changing before. I find it very very exciting.
This magazine to the left is one I ordered last week. I’m very anxious to recieve it. I feel in love with one pattern I saw reviewed on Pattern Review.

Don’t you just LOVE the curve on it. Boys clothing is so very boring, this piece is a welcome change. Can’t wait to try it!
Age Setting In
I’m old. Okay really I’m only 28, but I feel old. Last Sunday I tried to play soccer again. I don’t know why I thought I could run like that again without some sort of training. But I tried it anyways. Bet you didn’t know one 30min half could last 1hr, did ya? (and btw, there are two 30min halves) Oh, and I did the most amazing thing in the first 5 mins. I attempted to run backwards. Backwards I tell you. You most certainly can guess what happened next. I feel flat on my a**. It was rather funny though, and a bit embarrassing too! I am glad to tell you I didn’t pass out or lose my lunch. But I felt horrible after. My poor ankle still hurts today (4 days later). I’d be lying if I didn’t say I’m a bit afraid of this Sunday’s game.
But I did have my most wonderful knitting class on Saturday!!!! I love it very much. But I did find I took a class that is a bit slower then I had wished.
All we did on Saturday was learn to cast on and the knit stitch. I was hoping to learn purl (really I have already taught myself that), changing colors, maybe a bit about different yarn types, etc. I did pick out my yarn for my beginner scarf. I have gotten bored with it though. I remembered today that I have only until Saturday to finish it. And here’s the kicker, I am going to FROG the entire thing so far and start over. I have gotten DH to agree to let me take some sort of class, be it knitting or sewing or whatever, once a month. I call it my sanity therapy.
Also I see the Knitting World Cup starts tomorrow. I am doing the present (hat) for DH for it. I figure it’s a great project for me. Having little kids severely limits my time.

And not even a long spa filled, spolied kind of vacation. Just a break, a little one. I have three small children, my oldest is 4. In fact he just turned 4 this month. I don’t know how other moms deal with this, but some days I don’t think I am coping too well. Actually I don’t think it’s that. I think, or rather I know, I don’t get much time to myself. I spend my days with my kids and my nights with my laundry. But enough about all that.
Here’s my sock for my oldest DS. Coming along well I think.
I am excited to be nearing the heel. Yeah!
I have my first knitting class on Saturday. I’m very excited. This is a beginner class I am taking with a friend. They make a scarf in it. I don’t know what I’ll do with a scarf, but the process will be fun. Plus I’ll get to hang out in a yarn shop for 2wks.
