LDV’s Opening and A Little Etsy

April 5th, 2007

Hi Everyone.  Well, La Dolce Vita had it’s grand opening this week.  I have several things still up for grabs there.  I had listed this custom Olivia there in this super cute golden Euro birds fabric.

I adore the hood on this playdress.

I also listed a custom of this dress in any fabric up on Etsy.  I have joined EtsyKids and so excited about the sale coming up tomorrow.  It’s a new promotion for EtsyKids called Friday Night EtsyKids (FNEK).  I am offering 10% off and free shipping within the US.  Please come over and check out all the wonderful deals at my Etsy shoppe.   The sale is from 6pm - 12 pm EST.

Lastly I wanted to share this cute little tank (is it okay to say cute for a boy?)  It was the first time I used my top and bottom coverstitch on my Juki machine.  I adore this stitch.  It’s so wonderful.  Truly gives the garment a RTW look.

I created more for LDV’s opening.  You can see them all here.

A Bug Set for a Boy

March 27th, 2007

Well, more time has again passed.  I have been busy working on customs along with getting ready for a new congo launch on April 3rd.  I am so excited to have been asked to join La Dolce Vita on Hyena Cart.  We are doing a Soupe du Jour theme for our opening.  I have several things planned, with most of them cut.  I have started sewing a few of them as well.  I hope you all will join us for our launch.  There might even be some things given away (hint, hint).

Well, on  with the photos.  Here’s set I did as a custom for a boy.  I did some flat felled seams on this.  I should have taken some photos of the insides, but alas I forgot and it’s on it’s way to the owner now.

I don’t know why the shirt looks so yellow in the photos.  It must be something to do with the flash.  But I am very proud of this set.

So…

March 1st, 2007

Where have you been? Well, busy really. I have been working on my Hyena Cart. Busy with customs. Busy with kids. Let’s do a quick catch up. I played in my first Secret Sister game. Got outed almost immediately. :( She is awful sweet about it though. I also listed some items in a new Etsy shop.

But now for the sewing…

A few FO’s to start.

Swap outfit

A outfit I made for my first swap ever. I participated in one over at Sewing Mamas. I think it went well. I was a bit late in sending it out.

Cross Tee

A custom shirt I made. I am IN LOVE with this fabric. I bought all the store had. Then I went back to see if there was more. But alas, there was none.

Pinafore

And lastly (for today) the pinafore set that is on Etsy. That is all for me for today. I will try to come and blog more. Back to my orders.

Olive

December 1st, 2006

Here she is….

The Olive pattern is from Hilary. The pattern was easy to follow and (at least I think) the results were great. Olive was my first attempt at dollmaking. She was also my first experience with felt and hand embroidery. I will be making the matching a Archie for each of my sons. All three dolls are to be Christmas presents.

Here’s some more photos of Olive.

ETA: If anyone knows why my photos are so large, can you please let me know!

Holly Jolly Christmas

November 27th, 2006

Over the Thanksgiving holiday (here in the US), I made up this little dress for my DD. I had actually finished it on Wednesday and therefore I had her wear it for Thursday. This was my first time sewing an invisible zipper. I had also never sewn with velvet before. While sewing the zip I learned that while having a zipper foot is good, having the invisible zipper foot would have been better. I will pick one up next time though.
