Two Years
Next Friday the 22nd my littlest one will be 2! She is such a little cutie and I am very proud of her. I cannot believe it’s been 2 years already. The time really flies. Here’s my doll loving, girlie girl at just a few days old. Funny how she still has some of those newborn features.
Today was such a busy day. I took ALL my kids to the dentist along with myself. Luckily, they were very well behaved. Evie was the only one who didn’t have to sit in the chair, though she willingly wanted to take the x-rays (I didn’t let her). Then off to grab lunch and to my mom’s to eat it. Had the race to the elementary school to run Treat Day, which I LOVE to do. So much fun! Later after school ended and I picked up the kids we went back to school for our Movie Night. They showed “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs”. The kids loved this and are now sound asleep in their beds. What a great end to a very busy day!

Back in December I found this wonderful post by Samantha of The Handmade Dress. I have been looking to try homemade detergent for a while now and this just spurred me on. I went out and purchased all the supplies. A few days later I was shredding soap and adding the borax. I used the Fels-Napha bar for my first time making the detergent. While I will say in the beginning I did not care for the scent of it, it has grown on me. I do add a few drops of essential oils to the load to make it smell pretty. And so far, so good. The clothes coming out are nice and clean. Though next time I will try using Ivory soap.
Next is to make dish detergent (that is what the baking soda is for). It looks as easy as the laundry soap and I hope it preforms as well.

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. We did our best here to enjoy ours. We ended up getting our second blizzard for the winter over Christmas. It is amazing how much snow I have in front of my house. I believe it’s over 7ft high. DH and I took a photo which I’ll have to dig out for you. Ah found it. Here’s one of the drifts. My DH is over 6′ tall (to give you some perspective). Since this photo was taken it has snowed another 3″. Luckily now all we are dealing with bitter cold, -14 F. Things have been well despite the weather. Christmas was nice and well as the New Year.
I saw a link on SM to Motivated Moms. Now I have done Flylady and seen MM before, but have never tried it. I decided this year to give it a go. It was very little $ for the huge amount of work it saved me from making my own. I have been following it for a few days now and so far so well. DH is pleased and I think it’s helping. I love the checklist idea of it all. I hope to stick to it throughout the year.
Lastly, if you have time today please check out UM. Brooke of Family Tree Glass burnt her hand a few weeks ago and needs our help to pay for some mounting medicial bills. I wish her a very speedy recovery.

I love screen printing. I purchased a Yudu about a month ago and have used it tons since I brought it home. I love that I feel like I can finally make things for my older kids that are “school worthy.” Here’s a few things I made that I love.

Zip Hoodie
My son always wants to know if what I make is for him. Well this time it was! I made this hoodie complete with zip. I am very proud of it.
